You want food filled with lots of vitamins and minerals to support their growing body. Many parents have questions about which foods are better for babies as they are learning to eat solid food. Here are some of our suggestions for great foods for your baby to learn to eat.

Be Sure You Add Calcium

One of the most important vitamins you need to ensure your baby is getting enough of in their new diet is calcium. Both calcium and vitamin D work to strengthen teeth and support new bone growth, and you want your child to have strong teeth and bones for life. You can add calcium and vitamin D to their diet through milk, cheese, and yogurt. If your baby is lactose intolerant, offer your child dairy-free options, such as almond milk and yogurt or soy cheese. Also, when you add dairy to their diet, you also add phosphorous and casein, which help keep down the acid in the mouth from bacteria.

Green Leafy Vegetables

To help their gums and teeth stay strong, offer your child green, leafy vegetables that are full of folic acid. Folic acid helps keep their teeth strong and durable. If your child will not eat these veggies on their own, you can always disguise them in a smoothie.

Eggs

If your child loves eggs, that is great news because eggs are full of protein, calcium, and vitamin D. Eggs can help keep teeth strong and healthy. You can offer eggs to your children in a variety of ways, including fried, hard-boiled, and scrambled. Some children like to eat deviled eggs as well.
